Destination: Vietnam - The All-Nighter

With under 12 more hours until I’ll be on a plane, on my way to Vietnam, my strategy this time ‘round is to do an all-nighter, so I can successfully sleep on the plane.

It didn’t work last time I was on the plane to America, when I slept the night before and didn’t sleep at all on the plane. So it was the longest 12 hour flight, ever.

Hopefully, I will stay awake for the next… 6 hours so, can someone keep me awake?

I have not drank any energy drinks or coffee so far, and I am planning to drink some as the night progresses, so I don’t go all hypo and sing really loud, while everyone else is sleeping.

Maybe music will keep me awake for 6 hours? Ahh, I don’t know.. I’ll think of something. I have tried All-nighters in the past, and the furthest I’ve got to was 5am, which was pretty much a fail.

So, wish me luck, I’ll be tweeting all night (of course)!

Destination: Vietnam - What’s happening, socially.

I’ll be on a plane in just under 48 hours, so I decided to post this so you all know what’s happening.

Yes, I know, I changed website layouts. It’ll be back to normal when I get back on my holidays.

Of course, I’ll be taking 100s of photos, (I’m a good photographer! *cough*) and I’ll be uploading them all to a couple of social networking sites. I’ll still be relatively active on all these websites, more info below!

Twitter
As for tweeting, I will be doing this via SMS over there and will not be replying to all mentions until I have access to WiFi. If 3G Internet is enabled on my phone, then I will be tweeting via 3G and will be replying to all mentions ASAP.

Facebook
I will be logging on Facebook most nights where possible to talk on chat, respond to some wall posts and of course, uploading all my photos.

Flickr
Here, I’ll be also uploading some of the ‘good’ photos, for your viewing pleasure. Just in case you want to put it as your wallpaper or something.

Tumblr
Basically, whenever I’m on Facebook and/or Flickr, I’ll be on Tumblr. I’ll try and post about everyday during my trip at Vietnam.

YouTube
I’ll be also making video blogs as well, it’s basically a collage of what I did in that day. Hopefully, they’ll have Windows Movie Maker, and good upload speeds for me to upload!

I’m a stick

Something you may know about me is that, I’m a stick, and I admit that. But seriously, I’m majorly underweight. I’m 172cm high, and weighing in at around 50 kgs and 15y/o.

It seems like I haven’t been gaining much weight no matter how much I eat, (enter text - but that’s because you have a fast metabolism!) but seriously, maybe it’s because my mum hasn’t been buying much food for the past few years? Maybe it’s because I use my money on technology instead of food!

During the summer holidays, starting on the 2nd of December 2010 (that’s this Thursday), I will be starting to watch what I eat, eat more ‘healthy and nutritious’ foods, and hopefully, gain weight… for once.

My aim is to gain at least 15kgs - that’ll get me just into the 'healthy weight’ range, but really I’m aiming to gain 20-25kgs in the next few months. I might even make this my New Year’s resolution - to gain weight, haha.

Anyway, first things first, I will do my research and consult with my family doctor prior to starting this, so yeah, this’ll be my challenge for the Summer holidays - to gain weight!

There will be NO unboxings planned for the next few months in result of this, I will instead spend it on food - healthy food!

Also, I’ll be taking BEFORE and AFTER pictures and the road to gaining weight. All that will be uploaded to my Flickr account!

The Vietnam Edition

As you may all know, I’m going to Vietnam on the 3rd of December (next Friday, if you didn’t know) and I’m planning on taking 100s of photos and… 10s of videos(?)

Anyways, I’ve changed the background and the theme of my website (don’t worry, it still looks like Windows Phone 7, hahahah) to a Vietnamese-ish theme, and yeah, hope you all like it.

I’ll be uploading all my photos onto my Flickr account during the trip and you can all see it on my Flickr page.

As for the videos, I guess I’ll upload it on YouTube. I’ll let you guys know on my Twitter when I’ve uploaded photos or videos, so don’t worry about missing out on anything :>

And of course, I’ll be blogging, so stay tuned!

I’m going fishing!

I haven’t been fishing with my parents for a while now, and now’s the chance to spend time with my mum and dad fishing, since it’s such good ‘weather’ and all, according to my parents.

Well, yeah, I’ll be taking photos, taking my iPad w/ my Optus SIM - which I recharged last night, and I’ll be recharging my prepaid phone so I’ll be tweeting all night.. until I reach my limit, that is.

Withdrawals? Naah.

Well I haven’t been on my desktop PC for over 5 days now, and I think it’s starting to get a little lonely. I’ll get onto it sooner or later - when I get sick of my iPad, which is like… never - the way it’s going.

Adrenaline and Excitement

The day has past, the unboxing has past, and the moment has sunk in. Woah, the lead up to the iPad was agonizing for me - mentally and physically - thinking how much I would need to earn and thinking how I would last without spending a single cent. And now, finally, the iPad is in my hands - and this will be the first blog post I ‘post’ using the iPad. I wouldn’t be able to type this without the iPad keyboard dock, though. Overall, the iPad is FUCKING INCREDIBLE! The keyboard dock just tops it off. The apps are great (and expensive - I spent $60 on under 10 apps!), and addictive. Well, I hope you liked our unboxing of the iPad last night, even though it was pretty much a fail, you still tuned in which was great. No thanks to the Apple iTunes verification process, when you use an account on a ‘different device’. But on the bright side, we pretty much covered everything, iPad, keyboard, some apps, etc. To all people who think the iPad is the 'biggest thing in the world’, think again because it’s actually quite small. @itsdaniella came to my house a few hours ago, and screamed out, 'WOAH. IT’S SMALLER THAN I THOUGHT’. Also, to all people who think the iPad is just a big iPod touch, you’re all wrong. An iPod touch can’t process word documents on official Apple applications, they can’t use 3G networks, etc. So yeah, thanks to everyone who tuned into my unboxing, especially the ones who donated to me during the donation process. Thanks so much. Hieu

What am I gonna do?

I have a Physical Science exam tomorrow, and I don’t know what to do. I didn’t listen in class, like at all. Was obviously too busy being rebel and tweeting.

I’ve tried studying all day on this exam, nothings getting to my head. Heck, everything is nothing to me! I’m just looking over last years exam papers, getting the answers and trying to memorize them as much as I can before the exam.

But on the bright side - the exam is only one hour and a half. But it might be an hour of stuggle and panic and then half an hour of boredness. But then after those exams, adrenaline fills my body as the the iPad comes closer to my hands! Too bad, that feeling won’t be as good as I thought’ll be because I HAVE AN EXAM ON THURSDAY.

I hate Food Tech, I’ve always did, I don’t know why I chose it, why does it have to be on the last day of exams, I hate school, I hate the person who decided to put the Food Tech exams on the last day of exams. FML.

So, what am I going to do? @itsdaniellaa didn’t study for her Asian Study’s exam today, and she went pretty well. But that’s Asian Studys. This is about Physical Science; hopefully the questions are not as hard as I think it is.

Wish me luck! :)

The Good, and the Good(-ish) news.

Some updates to the annual leave submission at work and some good news for the unboxing of the iPad this week.

First things first. My manager wasn’t at work today to review my annual leave submission so I wasn’t able to justify my reason why I was taking time off and no decision has been made, for now. I’m not coming back to work until Thursday, so I probably won’t know what happens until then.

Also, there’s some good news about the unboxing of the iPad 64GB WiFi + 3G this week. I’ve convinced my friend to give me the iPad earlier than planned and so the unboxing time and date is now back to 16th December 2010 @ 8pm AEDT. I won’t be able to get everything as I planned, like the Telstra Micro SIM. So ill just take my friends Optus SIM instead.

Also, ill try and get my sister to buy me an iTunes gift card, because I only just made the 800 dollar mark to give to my friend. Also, I would like to thank every single one of the people who donated to me. I’ve raised $36.28 just by you, and I really appreciate it.

That’s all for tonight. I live to see another day.

Make or Break

As you may all know, I’m going to Vietnam on the 3rd of December - which is just under 3 weeks from today, and will be coming back on the 26th of December.

And of course, I need to take annual leave from work - which I just submitted last night. Because my annual leave will be during Christmas period - when work will be ‘very busy’ - my request might be declined, resulting in quitting my job or not even going to Vietnam and helping out my store.

Well, if it does get declined, I have no choice - my parents already bought the tickets. So, I’ll have to quit. My blame does go completely to my parents - I didn’t get a chance to talk to my manager to take some time off during Christmas period. Let’s just say, they rushed in to get tickets.

So I’ll talk to my manager when I go into work tonight, and fingers crossed it does go through, or else, there goes my job. Then I’ll be pretty pissed off at my parents - for giving me and work such short notice, 3 weeks isn’t good enough. I mean, who plans a holiday 3 weeks before going?

I’ll be tweeting the result at around 6:30pm AEDT when I’m on my break. Make sure you follow me, @hieuiee.

Destination: Vietnam

Wow, this is gonna be a jam-packed last couple of months of 2010.

Exams are taking place right as you read this blog post, the iPad unboxing will be broadcasted live in under 5 days, and now we add something to that list - Vietnam.

Yes, on the 3rd of December 2010 (that’s a Friday), I will be on a plane (not a boat, TROLLS), on the way to Vietnam, in South-East Asia.

No idea where exactly I’m going to yet - but all I know is that it’s in the south part of Vietnam (I think?). As always, I’ll keep you updated with my travels, with tweets (hopefully, there’s mobile internet there), and pictures on my Flickr. I’m just hoping that it doesn’t turn out like my trip to USA last year, where I couldn’t tweet anywhere!

So yeah, this time, I’ll be doing my research before going to Vietnam so that I’m 100% prepared for this trip.

Now, the $1 million dollar question - Should I bring my phone to Vietnam? Apparently lots of people are pretty desperate over there, (I’ve never been there myself) and they will steal wherever possible (my parents said this).

So, people who have had experiences at Vietnam, should I bring my phone - a $750AUD phone, to Vietnam?

Oh, by the way, I’m not bringing my iPad to Vietnam. I’m not bringing something that I just got - something that cost me almost $1,000 to somewhere that is most likely to get stolen.

When I get back from Vietnam (20th December 2010 I assume), I gotta go straight back to work for the Christmas period because apparently, its VERY busy during that time, and they probably need me there.
