Rant: Teenage Relationships
Teenage relationships are bullshit. I don’t believe in them and never will.
I’ve seen countless people get into these so-called ‘relationships’ at my high school. They start bragging about it, update their relationship to 'married’ on Facebook - when they aren’t even close to being married - and manage to count the amount of weeks and years they’ve been in a relationship. Heck, some people go to the extent to count the amount of days they’ve been in a relationship! Then two years passes by and bam, they’ve separated.
The bullshit that I hear or have heard from these people thinking that they will have the same 'girlfriend’ or 'boyfriend’ from high school makes me vomit. It kinda makes me laugh too. It makes me wonder if they will be together in two years time.
Alright, I admit it. I’ve had a couple of these 'teenage relationships’ when I was thirteen, but I didn’t go bragging on about it on Facebook (if it even existed four years ago) or my friends. In fact, I was quite uncomfortable that I had a girlfriend at 13 - or at least I thought I did.
Bottom line is, these teenage relationships (in my opinion) are pointless and are a huge waste of time. Wait until you’re old - and mature - enough to know what it takes to have a girlfriend before you go off bragging about it.
On a lighter note, I’ve just turned 17 four days ago. Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes both on Twitter and Facebook. I spent all night replying 80+ mentions on Twitter and 100+ wall posts on Facebook, but it was well worth it. I wish I could mention you all on this blog post but you know, I have a life now!
Oh, I’ve almost forgotten! This is the first post for 2012. What a way to start the year - with a rant - yeah? I hope you all have had a great and safe New Year. Bring on 2012!
