The Afterlife
It’s all over. The thirteen years of underage schooling - done and dusted.
The thing that everybody craves the most - freedom. I canjust taste it. It feels great. And boy, has it been an amazing first week of freedom. Let me update you with everything that happened since my last blog post, all the way back in November the 4th.
November 4 to 16 saw exam after exam, paper after paper, pulling of hair out of frustration - and trust me, I literally have no hair left on my head. This period saw four exams. Further Maths, Accounting, Business Management and IT Software Development. All I can say (really) is that I tried my best, and I’ll be relatively happy with whatever score I get.
After the last exam on November 16, that was when the partying started. I honestly didn’t know what to feel. Happy because everything’s finally over, or sad because, well, everything’s finally over? I guess I wasn’t either happy or sad. Just… calm. Or maybe that’s the wrong word. Anyway, there was an 18th Birthday smack bang on the same night - go figure, right? The partying God’s aren’t messing around here!
The parties continued on November 17 where alcohol took the better of me. Another party at a house with the Twitter Collingwood crew. Started with a couple of bottles of beer, then a couple of shots of Grappa (first and last time I’ll be having that crap), and Ouzo, then a heap of double shots of Jager Bombs. By 10pm, my memory flicked on and off, and yeah, as you might’ve guessed. I passed out, got emotional, done weird things that I hardly remember. The rest was history.
November 18 - recovery. Couldn’t do much. Head killed as expected. Had to clean the mess from the party. Today was the day where I regretted drinking (of course). Photos, videos and lots (and I mean lots) of stories floated their way onto the internet. Found out I got emotional because someone left, hugged someone for shits and giggles, jumped over someone for shits and giggles, drank more alcohol that I don’t remember drinking for shits and giggles.. I mean, you get the gist.
November 19 - More sleep happened today. Every muscle in my body were still aching from Nov 17. Managed to get my ass out of bed to Westfield Doncaster to watch the advance screening of Skyfall. It was an AWESOME movie.
November 20 - Was meant to go to the beach today. Wind ruined my plans, so went to my friends place to have a chat. Haven’t seen them since Nov 17 so I managed to find out that I was up to a lot more naughty stuff that night than I originally thought. Other than that, it was a relaxing day.
November 21 (today) - Went on a shopping spree in the city. Blew $150 like water on clothes and accessories. It’s like I was on a roll with the spending! $150 is almost 10 hours worth of work and I blew it in a matter of 10 minutes! Cruel world we live in, isn’t it?
Anyway, that’s an update on my life after VCE exams - and I’ve had a great time so far. The Year 12 formal and (who could forget) Schoolies is coming up very shortly, and I cannot wait to experience what’s ahead. I might disappear again, but if I do, you know where I am. If I do, I’ll be back on the 2nd of December.
Here’s to another awesome chapter in my life.
Oh, by the way, the next super-long essay worthy blog post will be ‘2012: Reflection’, keeping with tradition, of course. 2010. 2011.
