Running For The Thrill Of It

They say, “Time flies when you’re having fun”. They aren’t damn wrong either.

Wow, it’s been almost five months since my last blog post and don’t worry guys, I’m still alive.Just thought I’d pop by and give you an update on my life since February.

As always, I apologize with the long essay that I may or may not write for you right now, but I’ll keep paragraphs really short & might stick to one highlight per month. So here goes nothing.

February
Started my final year of high school education - otherwise as known as ’Year 12’, just in case you didn’t know - and trust me when I say this, this is probably one of the main reasons why I haven’t been posting here for so long. They say, you need a good work-life balance in Year 12 to succeed. Let me just say that you are really put to the test on this one.

March
Australian Formula One Grand Prix at Albert Park will have take the cake for this month. Wow, what a memorable one it was. Being a first-timer to such events, I had fairly low expectations and they were smashed to oblivion. It was a great weekend, and I have plenty of photos to prove it.

Oh, and the new iPad came out. That was cool and all, but yeah. I like the cars more. :)

April
An average month, I think. Not 100% sure what happened in April, my memory isn’t great! But let’s just say it was filled with school, work, footy, relax, and sleep. Oh, and term one holidays were in April as well. #justsaying

May
May was a fairly jam-packed month filled. Going out every weekend became a routine and my parents started getting worried about my studies. Mind you, I was performing very well at school - and still am.

Weekends were a time where I spent either going to 18th birthday parties - which don’t seem to stop, going to footy games where Collingwood would win (for all of May at least), or just going out with friends. All of which I actually couldn’t do in the past; it’s a parent thing.

June
Basically flew past. Principal’s Dinner, the first Collingwood Player’s Night, the VCE Accounting exam - and don’t get me started on that one, and lastly, another month full of wins for Collingwood spent at the MCG. And who could forget the Melbourne Earthquake?

July
Finally, the last month. More 18th birthdays came and went, the second Collingwood Player’s Night took place, VCE Unit 3 came to a close, going to VFL games started becoming a routine, the Euro 2012 Grand Final at Lygon Street, and heaps more.

Okay! That pretty much sums up everything that I’ve done while I’ve left this blog to collect dust. Must I also add, I’m in the process of making an iPhone app. I’m keeping a fairly tight lid on it (mainly because I have no idea yet LOL!), but I’ll be regularly posting photos and perhaps blog about my progress as well.

And last but not least, I’m going to give a quick shout-out to all the tweeps that I’ve met over the past five months - in addition to the short list from last year’s blog post. There’s heaps so sit tight! These aren’t in any particular order by the way, so no favouritism!

@magpie_fever - Possibly the best person I’ve met in my entire life. Where do I start?
@xander85 -  Yep, finally met him after only just missing out last year. Great bloke.
@Diamonds_Pearlz - Great lady to talk to - whatever time in the day. Smells good too.
@Craigsta90_10 - All ‘round funny bloke, and there’s not many out there. Great role model when it comes to perseverance.

@Pana_1969 - Also a great lady to talk to, even though I’ve only seen her once! First impressions count!
@lilithia - Also missed her last year, but a very nice lady to hang around with.
@KyzzaR - All ‘round great person to talk to. Certainly loves her Collingwood boys. Not naming any in particular!
@christophernl - Great bloke to talk to, also loves his footy.
@Martin_Sanna - This the the man to go to when you need a little cheering up. All 'round great bloke and also sneaks in a couple of jokes here and there which don’t fail.

@Kirsttie - Sweet, and a great person to talk to.
@nickiz02 - They say, “It’s the quiet ones you have to worry about”. Worry? Not this time. Great to talk to no matter the time of the day.
@noel_perkins - Funny bloke, but can’t figure out whether his tweets are realistic or plain sarcasm.
@melleegee - An absolute cracker of a person to talk to!
@BONACCI_ - Finally, someone in my age group! Great person to talk to, online and off!
@aflcaruso13 - Sweet, and a great person to talk to.
@SideBySidePies - Sure loves his footy. Good with the younger generation, too. Keeping up with the times!
@oneeyedpie - One of the tweeps who pleasantly surprised me. Didn’t know she was a comedian until we met! Funny lady to talk to!

Others include @cjharrison, @brett18heskey, @amymarshallpies, @Coley_ML, @CherryEleven, @Dgen717, @Raffco_46, @DebinMelbourne, @ClaireWingrove & @holly_fahey.

On a whole, they’re all a great bunch to talk to and it was a pleasure to meet them all. Looking forward to meeting more fantastic people in the future.

Anyway, I think I’ve typed enough tonight. If only I could write this much in my English SAC’s! I’ll try to type up a blog post once every month, but don’t be surprised if I don’t.

It’s good to be back.
