Looking back these twelve past years of education, I’ve never quite noticed how quickly it went by. Regardless of how many times I’ve tweeted or posted onto Facebook how much I hated school.
It only seems like yesterday I was walking into St. Luke’s Primary School in my hometown, Lalor with my rectangular green bag full of whatever my parents decided to put into the bag, eagerly waiting for what primary school had in store for me.
It only seems like yesterday when I was walking through the gates of St. Monica’s College, with my primary school memories behind me, and now into the more serious part of life - high school.
Six years later, I’m in the last year of high school education and it’s only a matter of months before I’m legalised in this small world.
It feels like I’m dreaming, but I’m far from it. Soon, pressure from VCE will kick in and before we know it, graduation parties, schoolies and final goodbyes will come and go. To be honest, I’m not sure what the future holds for me. I’m not even sure who my real friends will be after I leave high school.
I’m glad this school year (for Year 12s) is only eight months long, but it’s only eight months time before everybody goes their separate ways, into their very different lives.
I wish everybody studying VCE Year 12 this year - including myself - an enjoyable year. As I’ve heard countless times on Twitter, make it worthwhile because you only have one shot at this.
Good luck guys.
