2011: Reflection

After having a quick read through last year’s reflection, I have to admit, I can type the exact same post from last year in this reflection. The year’s flown by, no doubt. I’ve had many positive moments but also had the occasional negative moments - but I’m sure everyone would say the exact same thing.

Well, 2012 is only a party away and I’m very excited to finally put 2011 behind me. Why? Nothing much happened this year.

Still employed with Woolworths Safeway as a sales and bakery assistant. Yep, which meant I’ve been waking up at 5:30am every Sunday morning for the past year. Let’s just say I’m not a morning person.

2011 was also a year that I met more exciting tweeps in-person. And I gotta say, it’s a weird feeling meeting people who you’ve only talked to online. @jletti, @Diamonds_Pearlz, @melburnian just to name a few. I could add @lilithia and @xander85 to the list but I didn’t really meet them (long story).

2011 was also the year that I started my VCE education. Satisfactorily passed every unit this year, which was good. Improved my English scores between Units 1 and two - averaging D (in Unit One), to B+ (in Unit Two), which was a huge achievement for me this year. Dropped Chemistry and picking up Accounting mid-year was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. Also discovered what I wanted to do after high school.

Found out I earned $12,000 during 2010-11 financial year, still wondering where that money is. An iPhone 4S, Mac mini, XBOX 360, iPad 2, Beats by Dr Dre later, I owe the bank $9.95 and there’s nothing but tumbleweeds going through my wallet.

Alright. Enough of my bullshit about what happened in my life in 2011, it’s time for my New Years resolution for 2012!

2012 will be a huge year. I can feel it. I just know it will be. In fact, I’m looking forward to my reflection post this time, next year.

Year 12, my last year of high school education. My upcoming business(es) that I’ve dedicated a lot of hours into is going to be up and running in 2012. My sister will be moving out of my parents’ house and into her house late-2012. And lots more will happen, I’m sure of it.

2012 will also be the year that I will be saving up for my first car - a Holden Commodore VE Omega or SV6 MY9.5 - and/or my first holiday (by myself or mates) during Christmas - to the US or Europe. I’m just looking for some motivation to save up and hopefully my future business is successful.

As I said, 2011 was a year to forget for me and I’m not gonna criticize people who had the year of their lives. 2012 will be huge and it’s going to be pretty hard to ruin it for me. Bring it on.
