The Rest is History

Thirteen years in the making - a week of partying, drinking and good memories.

Post high school education celebrations continued with the Year 12 formal and the ever-so-exciting ‘schoolies' both now done and dusted. It was a great week overall and it was great to see all my mates from school again, even if they were all drugged up or drunk.

Here’s a summary of what mischief we all got to in the past week-or-so.

NOVEMBER 23 2012 - YEAR 12 FORMAL
This was where the year level were all dressed up with the theme, 'Casino Royale’ and strutted our stuff on the dance floor. It was also the final night to see all our VCE teachers. Overall, it was a great night.

NOVEMBER 24 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY ONE
Today marked the start of schoolies, and we spent the week in Rye, Victoria. And boy, was it a huge start. Settled into our apartments, drinks were drunk and I managed to break a table tennis table (whoops).

NOVEMBER 25 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY TWO
Schoolies continued. Found out I sleep-talk after a drunken night out. More drinks were drunk, more Vitamin D were soaked in and yet another party was partied (if that makes any sense whatsoever).

NOVEMBER 26 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY THREE
Beach day. Things became a routine from hereon out. Beach during the day and party and alcohol during the evening. Spent the night with some friends, watched 'The Vow’ (out of all movies, right?)

NOVEMBER 27 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY FOUR
Another day spent at the beach. More friends from school had their first day of schoolies today so a BBQ was organised to celebrate.

NOVEMBER 28 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY FIVE
Had an 18th birthday party today, and celebrated that. Three people had their own separate problems which I had to help them out with - one who had too much to drink, another who was pouring after an insult was thrown at her, and another who was friendzoned. Typical teenagers, right?

NOVEMBER 29 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY SIX
39 degree day, and what did we do? Stay at home. The body figured that I had too much alcohol these past few days so it gave way. Pretty eventful day. Three of my room-mates ate cake which pretty much ruined them for most of the day (drugs a possibility). One of them decided to drink three tablets of Berocca and mix them with beer - bad idea. Same person gets locked in a room for two hours with the bedroom door stuck. Pool party towards the evening which ended up in four anxious girls which I (of course) had to calm down myself.

NOVEMBER 30 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY SEVEN
Final full day of schoolies for us, and we didn’t stop partying. Had a BBQ in the afternoon. A friend was fined $600 plus 3 demerits for some reason. And finally, a huge house party which didn’t fail late in the evening. The same table tennis table that I broke in the first night was broken again - this time, not by me (thank God). A night to remember.

DECEMBER 1 2012 - SCHOOLIES: DAY EIGHT
Early checkout at 10am is always a bitch. Woke up at 8am half asleep with the apartment a mess and not a bag packed. An intense hour of cleaning and packing was done, and final minutes of shut eye were made. Goodbye, schoolies and Rye. Hello, Melbourne!

… Aaaannd that’s a wrap! That’s pretty much everything that went down in my ever-so-boring life in the past week, and as they say, “the rest is history”.

I enjoyed the week (not too sure about the liver though) and this will go into the memory bank, and hopefully, I’ll remember this for the rest of my life.
